The project idea is to create a collection of poems that will be translated into as many languages as possible. In doing so, I am not interested in transferring the expression of the original language into other languages in a completely pure way, but rather in recognizing the freedom of the poem.

The poem, once written, is a free being that changes its shape like everything else. The very translation into another language is a search for freedom for the poem. A search for new nuances, a new expression, new contexts, finally a new being. The process of translation takes place in an unrestricted group of people. Anyone interested is free to perform a translation. Each translator thus becomes part of the poem.

There is no longer a formal written original, no longer one poet, but only different ways of expressing a basic idea that was put into the world by me. “The poem” is thereby grasped as a common idea, as a purpose behind all the translations found in the process. It becomes at the same time the origin, the process of action and the goal and thus questions our understanding of purpose and consequence, cause and effect. 

As a result of this process, the poem fights for a certain self-determination, a dignity found through its “members”, the translators.
